Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the "low-carbon economy" in the states that comprise the Legal Amazon, through an investigative survey of the Inter-State Consortium of the Legal Amazon, specifically regarding the Green Recovery Program. For this analysis, the text employs a theoretical and methodological framework grounded in critical thinking, aiming to illuminate the new forms of appropriation and territorial control that arise with the so-called "climate economy." Thus, it seeks to contribute to a critical reflection on the territorial implications of businesses that emerge in the context of climate change, particularly those that assign new economic meanings to forests and incorporate innovations from sectors of globalized scientific agriculture.
