Abstract

This article presents an interview with Ailton Krenak, which took place on April 14, 2022. Ailton Krenak is one of Brazil's most important indigenous leaders and is of outstanding historical importance in the struggle for the rights of indigenous peoples. As well as being an environmentalist and a great interpreter of Brazil, he has published several books over decades of intellectual production. He was the founder of the Union of Indigenous Peoples and a member of the Alliance of Forest Peoples. He holds an honorary doctorate from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and was recently elected a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL).
