This paper is an epistemological reflection on the relationship between landscape and nation. For that, the theoretical framework of Augustin Berque is used, focusing on his concept-process of trajection. In this reflection, in which we assume the inseparability of the ideological and material dimensions, the landscape and the nation are seen from a dialectical relationship. The theoretical starting point is the consideration that the nation is an imagined community, as advocated by Bennedict Anderson. This assertion makes it possible to defend the perspective that the materiality of the landscape interferes with the idea of nation and, on the other hand, this idea interferes with the spatial arrangement of the landscape.
