Abstract

It is known that the agrarian question and the problems that arise from it are not new nor are resolved, but also recognizes that many initiatives have been taken in this direction. Among them is important to highlight the service of Technical, Environmental and Social Agrarian Reform (ATES), created by the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INCRA) in order to be an alternative in providing extension services to local farmers. Thus, we developed a field research in the context of the settlements of the Municipality of Candiota/RS. Where is aimed to understand the actions of the extension in practice in view of the guidelines of the Program ATES and the possible conflicts that then arises, namely the conflict between theory and practice in setting the guidelines of this program for service rural extension.
