Abstract

The article presents results of a reflexive feedback process conducted through an interview with Osmarino Amâncio Rodrigues, a historical leader of the rubber tapper movement. The investigation aimed to challenge findings of a literature review on institutional issues affecting Extractive Reserves (RESEX) after their incorporation into the National System of Nature Conservation Units (SNUC). Based on the extended case study method, the methodology involved collective reading and discussion of the article resulting from this review. The interviewee’s reflections highlight criticisms of the gap between the current institutional model and the original conception of RESEX, suggesting potential impacts on the socio-ecological resilience of these territories and, consequently, on their capacity to face climate change.
