Desenvolvimento do planejamento espacial marinho
perspectivas globais e desafios no Brasil

O Planejamento Espacial Marinho (PEM) é uma abordagem estratégica para a gestão dos oceanos, integrando múltiplos usos e a conservação ambiental. Este artigo analisa sua evolução global e discute os desafios enfrentados no Brasil, como a fragmentação institucional, a escassez de dados e a limitada participação social. Apesar desses obstáculos, o país tem avançado com a implementação do PEM na Amazônia Azul por meio de estratégias regionais e do apoio técnico e financeiro do governo federal. A Geografia Marinha é apresentada como um campo essencial para o fortalecimento do PEM ao oferecer subsídios teóricos e metodológicos para uma governança mais justa e eficaz. A articulação entre ciência, política e comunidades locais é destacada como fundamental para garantir equidade, eficácia ecológica e inclusão social. O estudo contribui para o aprimoramento das políticas públicas e reforça a importância do PEM diante dos desafios do Antropoceno.
