Abstract

This text presents research results about the views and perceptions of children on the establishment of Early Childhood Education. It was adopted as an object, the manifestations of the child about their experiences within the context of a pre-school, not through discourse adult, but by talking, by the look, the gestures, the stories, by drawings, from whom the experiences at the time - the child. Thus, relying on the conceptual framework of the sociology of childhood, we attempted to examine the expressive manifestations of children with their peers, using the following specific objectives: understanding and analyzing the views of children about the institution they attend kindergarten; point and reflect on possible directions that provide a pleasant environment that nurture and educate more respecting their wishes, needs and circumstances. To this end, the study with a qualitative approach, as participants had children who are aged between the fifth and sixth years of life, a grouping of Pre II, an institution for kindergarten in the municipality of Corumbá-MS. Accordingly, we determined the following methodological judged suitable for the search of the perceptions of study subjects: participant observation (with daily records in the field); informal conversation (recorded audio), drawings (with thematic directions) produced by the children; visit guided (recorded audio), and history to complete (recorded audio). The context in which children have access reflects intensely on how they express themselves, therefore, on several occasions we found that contrary to what many adults think children do not seem to be satisfied with the school and practices developed there. In short, listening to the children in this study reinforces the idea of their competence and ability to be elected to key informants about issues that concern them.
