Retraction Policy

Retractions

If any error is discovered by Geografia em Atos (Online) or by others, such as articles published in duplicate, incomplete authorship information or ethical misconduct by authors, the journal will have a period of 30 to 180 days to resolve it. The editorial team should be alerted by e-mail about the fault. The retraction time will depend on the need for evaluation and new opinions.

Before articles are published, the final version of the manuscript is sent to the authors for approval.

The journal will publish, in the retraction section, the title of the article, the authors' names and institutional affiliations in cases where plagiarism or self-plagiarism is identified; as well as in cases where the authors submit the same manuscript to other journals after receiving the acceptance letter.

In addition, depending on the seriousness of the error identified, GeoAtos may contact the institutions with which the authors are involved, as well as informing the co-authors about the process.

The investigation process will take place as follows:

At first, before starting the process, the nature of the breach will be defined, for example: plagiarism, ideological falsehood, data manipulation, theft and misuse of other people's articles, etc. Next

1 - Survey the submission and the entire process of initial and then peer review;

2 - Check all communications with the authors;

3 - Check the similarity report;

4 - Check any complaints, whether anonymous or identified, against the entire editorial process;

5 - Issue a technical and scientific report on the investigation;

6 - Dialogue with the identified authors and whistleblowers, if any, or with those responsible for the actual credit;

7 - Meeting with the journal's editorial and scientific committee to decide on the retraction.

8 - Publication of the appropriate measures, including civil and criminal proceedings.
