Similarity
Geo Atos magazine uses a similarity checking system. We use the programs Turnitin, CopySpider and Plagius for verification.
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a technical review for plagiarism on the Turnitin platform https://www.turnitin.com/ . The editorial team checks the data provided and in the case of plagiarism, with the recognition of at least one paragraph without the correct reference, the manuscript will be returned to the author(s), indicating the problem. For cases of self-plagiarism, the maximum allowed is 10% of the text or 40% when it is the result of a master's dissertation or doctoral thesis. If this is not the case, the manuscript will be returned with notification of the problem and the opportunity to make a new submission in the journal's system.
- In the case of notifications made to the journal after publication, the Editorial Team will evaluate the complaint and, if confirmed, the manuscript will be deleted from our database, with the possibility of applying appropriate measures to the author(s).
- The Editorial Team recommends accessing and being aware of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines on ethical principles in scientific publication.
