Abstract

Podcasting is a Web 2.0 tool that allows you to create and share audio programs over the Internet. When published to blogs or websites of educational communities, enables the creation of communication and interaction networks between authors and listeners. This article reflects on the potential and limitations of using the Podcast in kindergarten and primary education from the analysis of an experiment conducted with educators, teachers and children of the Agrupamento Fernando Casimiro Pereira da Silva in Rio Maior, Portugal. The research presented in this article is part of an action research study. It involved an initial training initiative for teachers and educators, followed by the production and publishing of podcasts and finally the evaluation of the process. The results show that Podcasts' production has a positive impact on primary school students' motivation for reading and writing and on pre-school students' oral expression.
