Abstract

There are various paradigms on the study of water affecting it from different points of view. Water management is approached from the physical and geological sciences, and relies on technologies such as hydraulic engineering. The historical aspect, emphasizes the importance of considering water not as a resource as an essential part of a worldview that vertebra the cultural heritage of a community. For example, in the study of disasters (floods, pests, etc.) has been the emphasis on hidroclimatic data, social responses or social vulnerability. However, the ecocrítica has emphasized the role of the fabulous folk and imaginaries in general to provide a holistic view of the problem understanding. Cautionary fabulated speeches on the waters and its risks emphasize the importance of these places of memory and reinforce identities through these ecofictions and rituals. Become, therefore, in traditions useful because they actually speak of sustainability, ethics and the need to preserve the memory and the cultural identity of the community against the predations of the nature. Thus, the knowledge of this culture of water not only contributes to the acquisition of basic skills education, and in particular, to the literary education and heritage, but it contributes to the governance of the water and the sustainable and responsible management of water resources. As indicates E. Morin, reading and literature are a school of complexity, and these myths always affect the multicausality of human actions.
