LA DIMENSIÓN TERRITORIAL DE LOS BANCARIOS DE PRESIDENTE

This article analyzes the legal-institutional apparatus of Brazilian trade unionism and its reflections on banking trade unionism, using the Union of Bank Employees and Financial Workers of Presidente Prudente and Region as a case study. The analysis addresses union unity, territorial base delimitation, union dues, and the confederative structure, highlighting how trade unions operate in a municipalized and fragmented manner, while financial capital organizes itself in a unified and transnational way, managing its own territory, that is, the very space of capitalist self-realization. Despite these structural limitations, the banking experience shows attempts to reappropriate the confederative structure as a tool for collective struggle, albeit timidly in the face of the dominance of capital. The study is based on bibliographic review, cartographic analysis, and interviews with union leaders.
